Right Now, it's GIRLS' GENERATION

I know I wasn't listened to K-Pop or J-Pop (which I haven't last year)... until "I Got A Boy" by SNSD (Girls' Generation) caught my attention. To be honest, this song and "The Boys" (Korean, Japanese & English) kinda grew on me AND made me learn Korean & Japanese - which is my 4th and 5th language.

Kris Kross

Chris Kelly "Mac Daddy" of Kris Kross (Aug. 11, 1978 - May 1, 2013)

I'm very saddened to say that former Kris Kross member Chris Kelly "Mac Daddy" (my 1st boy crush) had passed away last Wednesday evening. He was 34.

Kris Kross is the my only fave rap group that made my childhood so diggy, diggy dope... I remember when 'Jump' 1st came out, I was in 4th Grade (going on 5th) at 10 yrs old watching the video and I just can't help but jammin' to it!!! That was the beginning of me becoming a Kris Kross fan..literally. These two dudes are too cute and so adorable at ages 12 and 13, I'd instantly having a crush on both of them (even my childhood friend Vanessa had a crush on Chris Smith "Daddy Mac"!!! Lol). Then, there's 'Warm It Up', 'It's A Shame' and 'I Missed The Bus'; TV appearances & performances - such as Oprah, BET's Teen Summit and Video Soul, Nickelodeon's The Nick Hit List, Soul Train, Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Awards, etc. - and acted in a episode of A Different World ("Original Teacher") and the movie Who's The Man. How could I not forget the Sprite commercial that Kris Kross did in the nine-tré (slang for '93)?
When my dad gave me this CD in 1994 - Kris Kross' second album DA BOMB (which went certified Platinum) - I played it in my bedroom ever since and loved every song on there, including the #1 rap hit 'Alright', 'I'm Real' (which contains a sample of Rick James' "Mary Jane") and the title track (which introduced the world to Da Brat - who brought us the hit Funkdafied in '94).
1996 came with their third album Young Rich & Dangerous (which went certified Gold) and I still supported them ever since, even when they're M.I.A!!! Luckily, I've listened to them on the Ryan Cameron Morning Show on the radio in 2002 - which is the best moment I've ever heard. And what's funny is I've read the WHERE IS... section in JET magazine back in 2008.
And this year 2013 is when Chris and Chris reunited and performed at So So Def's 20th Anniversary tour last February. Who would've thought that my fave rap duo in the '90s would grown up so mature (and sexy, as we might say). But right now, I'm completely shocked and upset when I heard the news last Wednesday and tweeted and hash tagged several of my tweets on Twitter to pay tribute to him.

As a huge Kris Kross fan (since 10 years old), I wanna say Thank You for the music you & Chris had shared to the world, and the memories that made my childhood so fresh and diggy, diggy dope!!!! And also Thank You both for making the whole world "Jump, Jump...." to this day. Chris Kelly, you're still the lovable, huggable type of guy that any girls (myself included) had a huge crush on in the '90s and your tough rhymes are still tight as ever!!! We love you & miss you Mac Daddy, and God Bless.
